Will one of those tighten/trim tools provide enough tension to clamp a hose on a barb “temporarily”?

I don’t have the tool for Cobra ties but I would think you may be able to tighten a hose on a barbed fitting enough for sealing low pressure domestic water or fuel lines all by hand tension. My guess is the tool would make this task even easier and tighter. I have been using Cobra wire ties since last summer and replaced all the off brand wire ties on the outside rail holding coax in place with Cobra. This eliminated what was a serious sharp edge with a smooth retracted cut end. I also found the Cobra product to be way stronger then their own specification states. I keep one pack of the 120 lb test, long ties for use in our damage control bag.

You can also get economical rolls of velcro tape in the garden section of your local home center. Cut the tape for the application, such as 2′ lengths for bundling up the shore power chord.
