    Ben,
    Did you get to play with the GB-40 units? I felt that the user interface was quite sluggish.

    I didn’t notice that, Kees, plus I think the units were described as prototype, so likely don’t reflect the speed of the finished machine.

    I am not sure it is Northstar based, it looks more like Nobeltec Admiral, but designed for Simrad GB60 look.

    I don’t think so, Berislav. The GB60 is definitely based on Nobeltec Admiral. But I’m 99% sure that the GB40 is based on the Northstar 8000i.
    In fact this may cause a little confusion for customers. In superficial ways, the GB40 series does look like a relative of the GB60 series, but I’m pretty sure that their underlying software is pretty different.

    Ben, It seems you are right, it is based on Northstar. It is a little bit strange that Simrad is moving from Nobeltec on GB40.
